I can't find the site, but there was a company based in NSW who were doing brand new Eleanor copies for $200,000 a few years back.
Unlike the Yank copies with old 289's and 67 running gear for 240,000, the Aussie ones had new 5.4L donks and all new suspension and driveline. Can anyone else remember this? I found www.eleanormustangs.com.au on google, but the site can't be found. More searching and www.eleanormustangs.com is the US site and prices are down to 71,900US and alook very good. I thought the yank copies were using a whole host of new bits and pieces, including alloy big blocks and all re-engineered(including a supersnake version), not just 'old 289's and 67 running gear?

When I read the original article that's what they said the original replica's were. By looking at the second site, it seems that may have changed |

Yeah, but an average fastback isnt going to draw the attention that the eleanor will. That could be a good thing though.

I love my Fords, and had a nice '68 mustang coupe a while back, but what a waste of money - how could you let go and play with it? I can't see anyone doing doughnuts on dirt in that! Think of the collection you could start with $200K... top of the list: Original XY GTHO...

Those things fly though. |

Not taking anything away from the above car, but I could think of other cars to spend $200k on, and they'd be original!
