Default AU Falcon - Lowered or not?

I have just recently bought a 98 AU Falcon Forte that has had some mods done to it.

I have no idea if this thing has been lowered or not? I have measured the ride height and it is 360mm both front and back.

The wheels are 17" and the tyres are 235/45/17.

You measured from the top of the guard to the centre of the wheel arch, yeah? If that's the case the car is lowered to approximately XR ride height.

Thanks. Put me back $10,990 and bought it from Kloster Ford, Cardiff.

Has 139,000km on the clock, as well as sports exhaust (2.5" piping from the cat down). The interior is in great condition.

Yep I measured the ride height correctly. I think it must have sports springs and suspension or something because it handles very well on corners.

Just to confirm what Dark Horse said, it is definitely lowered. Stock height is around 375 to 395 (depending on year of build).

Hmmm... doesn't look too low to me, but the numbers suggest it is. It'd look great a bit lower mate! ;)

Thanks everyone!

It was built Dec 98. So I am not sure what the actual original ride height was for this particular vehicle prior to lowering.

I didnt tell my insurance company (AAMI) about it so hopefully it will be within the 30mm leeway.

Cheers!

Look at it, you could probably fit your fist between the tyre and gaurd on the rear and atleast a good 3 finger's on the front, need's to be lower IMO, lol.

AU1s were the highest of the lot - from memory, they were supposed to be 380 front and 385 rear, but there was a standard +/-10mm from the factory. Either way, you are within the 30mm, and really, it looks the same as stock AU2 height.

Mine sits at around 340/345 front and rear, and the tyres are pretty much equal with the guards - so you could go lower if you want, but if you're with AAMI, they only allow 3 mods, and with wheels, extractors and exhaust - that's 3!.
