Default Teen Attacked due to Rape Rumour

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117....html?from=rss

Just found this while doing my daily cruise of the news online, but my question is, what the hell is the 'Girlfriend' being or been charged with? She surely had played as much a part of this as the 3 attackers. If she is indeed not facing any charges, absolutely disgusting.

jesus. although the location isn't suprising, I could even guess what kind of clothes they wear.

yes she is to blame a bit, but what tools actually go ahead and do something like that just because some girl said it was true.

I must admit, if anyone did anything to my GF id run them over, but thats my choice not someone elses.

I have to agree.. she should definitely be made accountable in some way..
but the thing that amazed me was the judge saying this:
Quote:
She ordered Benney and the 18-year-old man undergo an assessment to determine their suitability for a community-based order.
You have to be kidding... community based!!!
Yeah these kids have shown they are thugs, let's leave them out on the street to laugh at our Justice System and do worse next time round....

I'm pretty sure if that burnt guy wanted he could sue for defamation and the result being the girl who lied would have to pay all damages awarded by court, it would probably take years to be processed though.

I dont like the sound of that "community based order". If you can try and torch a guy with kero and NOT go to jail - then i want outta here.

And WTF did Mr Benny cough up the scratch for a QC??

By the sounds of it - they're all destined for jail anyways. Maybe not today... maybe not tomorrow...

Stupid F#@%^* mob justice

Problem is, their low faith in the justice system (which was a catalyst for the attack, have no doubt) has been rewarded with light sentences :

Useless scumbags

So Mr Benney's mother died and his father hit him. I am getting sick and tired of the way people cry "bad childhood" to excuse their actions. It's bloody wrong as everyone chooses their own future, if they want to try to.

Girls who cry rape like the boy who cried wolf just make it so much harder for those who really have been assaulted in any way to get any sort of real justice.

Girls who really have been raped or abused can take months, sometimes even years to tell anyone. If only those idiots had any idea.

Someone should retrofit them with a clue in the confines of a prison cell, Girl who cried wolf included :jab: : : ing_sm out:

Ross Ray QC, for Benney, said his client had had a troubled childhood.

He said Benney's mother died from cancer in 1993 and Benney had several physical altercations with his "authoritarian" father, who resigned from the police force in 1989.

This is the type of crap above that annoys me. That girl should be charged as well.

"Rodger pleaded guilty to intentionally causing serious injury"

Why isn’t it attempted murder, are those morons so stupid that they expected him to live after they had doused him in petrol and set him alight. I’m guessing someone must have intervened to stop the poor man from being burnt to death. I say 10yrs minimum in the slammer.

Just goes to show - you never know who wants you dead or why. The way she set him up you have to wonder how he'll ever trust another person.
If she arranged the crime, participated in planning it, led the victim to it and attended why isn't she accountable?!! Or does she have her own sob story...
If they get off with community based service I hope it's in a burns unit at a hospital.

Unbelievable. The justice system seems to favour more serious crimes while traffic offences get the most attention.

I agree the girl should be held accountable and receive punishment for her actions on that night.

Another thing is often witnesses do not intervene when a crime is taking place, which just makes society more "closed doors" as the years roll on.
