Default Mixed allegiances ..

Drove into SuperCheap carpark yesterday in the AU. I was wearing my "Mopar" cap. The car I pulled up beside was a CM Valiant. The guy got out was wearing a "Ford" cap. Just thought the apparent mixed allegiances was amusing.
BTW: I like to drive my SV8 wearing my "Ford Performance" cap, and usually the AU wearing my "HSV" cap. The Mopar one is a wildcard I drag out when I feel like upsetting everyone. The American Motors one I usually drag out when I want to confuse everyone ..
Rod.

I wore my old cat racing hat once in the SV8 and got strange looks at the maccas drive through.

I remember at Indy last year that there was this one guy fully decked out in Holden gear, driving a XR6 Turbo...

When ever there are burn out competitions on at Eastern Creek or WSID, I wear this huge FORD jacket, but the cars I cheer on are Holden's because we sponsor a blown Torana (Orange one that won the Street Machine end of summer burn out party at Wagga Wagga) and a mates blue VK.

If you really, really want one take a nice cap to one of those computerised sewing mobs, they'll put it on easy as, might cost a few bucks more than the other cap but at least you'll have it, just tell 'em what you want and they draw it up on the computer.

I have a Ford shirt, but I'm yet to wear it, while driving my VL. :hihi:

I also have a Holden and HSV shirt, I like to wear when I'm driving the Laser.

It's funny, because it confuses people and they don't know where your loyalty lyes.

Yep .. exactly. I don't have loyalty to any one brand, just a concept; 6-cyl and V8 powered cars with "presence". Personally I prefer not just American brands but American made cars. They are something different on AUstralian roads - people KNOW they are American cars. I've owned Studebakers, Pontiacs, Chevs, Dodges, Plymouths, Chryslers, Jeeps, Ramblers, AMCs .. and even Holdens and Fords. But I'd probably even own a V8 Mercedes or V8 Leyland-whatever just 'cos ...

Variety is the spice of life. I'm not going to pass up what I see as an "interesting" car, just because the badge on it isn't what my Dad owned.

BTW: At the moment I'm looking at a International Scout II ... maybe ditch the 345 Inter engine and put a AMC360? Just the thing for splatting roos!!

Im slightly more to the Ford camp yet i drive a Holden. Back when i was in tafe, i used to wear a Ford cap while driving a holden, yeh it was kinda funny since my friends kepy bagging me about it, but who cares. In the end of the day, im a car enthusiast, and the reason i chose the VT was that it drank less, looked better, and had less kays than the AU i couldve gotten. Plus i got a better deal on it as well.

Exactly mate.

I'm considering, getting a EB Fairmont for my next car and if I do, I'll still wear my Holden stuff.

To me a badge the car wears is irrelevent. I think too many people judge a car by it's badge.

I think you would find if every car made was made by a generic organisation, people's views on certain cars would change, because they would have no badge to fall back on. (Of course alot of people appreciate a large majority of cars and see past the badge)
