Default I have defected...

I am now the proud owner of a HSV VT GTS 5.7 stroker.... I needed a V8 fix, and it was too good an offer to refuse. Sadly the AU will have to go, hopefully to one of you lot :!

It has been, and still is a fantastic vehicle, absolutely faultless as a car, save one thing.. it has 2 few cylinders!

Its listed in the sale section for those who are interested. PM me if interested.

Hopefully I'll still be welcome round these parts, as I'm not a die hard either way, as long as its Aussie, I'm happy, and these forums are a true fountain of knowledge.

Congrats on the new purchase. That's a fine choice you've made too, even if it is from the dark side :P

And how good is it that G&D do Ford & Holden. No matter which side your on, they do both anyway lol.

Have fun with it!

I have a mate who's dad has a red VT1 GTS, very nice car and they have a killer V8 note too

Just make sure you get the camber issues sorted with the back wheels if they havent been already, they wear out pretty quick on the insides!

Congrates mate, yes I do have a bit of a soft spot for the 353 Harop stroker. I believe there are some 230kw model that were balanced and blueprinted and with phenominal torque. Is it a manual or automatic?

Nice purchase. I nearly bought one of the 195i HSV Calais a few years ago, but they would only give me $9k for the AU1 XR6 VCT. In the end I traded it on the XR8, and got $16k trade for it! Otherwise I would have been in the Calais. I would still have the XR fronted wagon of course!

Ford, Holden; doesn't matter much when they have the 5.0 derived engines in them. Both are great cars, just the Holden interior is a bit gemini-ish. I prefer Ford based on price, basically, and have been loyal to Ford since leaving the darkside in 2000 (previous car was a 1997 VS2 Berlina wagon).

You guys just inspire confidence lol :thebirds:

Its an auto btw, and ive had it checked out by work, clean as. Build number 194. Gave it a bit of a blat, jeeeeez the noise is good! Think I'll come down to Heathcote next time and give it a run.

Couldnt resist it at the price, and I've always had a soft spot for the aussie stroker motors, real grunty beasts!

Only complaint with it: now I'll have to join up Street Commodores forums.. theres so many nuff nuffs over there.. : Thank god I found FF first...

Meh, I've got no probs admitting the VT is an average peice of gear in Executive form etc, but the GTS is something special, and the 5.7 V8.. oh lordy! :

None of that GENIII crap for me, only aussie grunt. Currently, mine has a Remus stainless steel exhaust and by god it sounds glorious :Up_to_som
