Default Toyota Tacoma

Snapped a LHD Toyota Tacoma on Canterbury Rd Vermont on my way home tonight.

Imo they look HEAPS better than the new Hilux, or any other Jap dual cab pick up on the market at the moment.

I wonder if they will bring them out ??

Looks like a cross between a Bravo and a Hilux, i prefer the Navara, is it a V8 ?

4L V6 same as the hilux, it has a slightly lesser payload than the Lux, but it probably is a better car, and better made (not built in Thailand) and a nicer interior than the Lux

I would also go with the Navara

That looks crap i'd much prefer the hilux. Also reckon the navara looks good except front on, looks like it was hit flat with a bat.

You may be right BUT it did look bigger in the flesh, it stuck out like dogs ball$

Quote from Wikipedia :
Both the Tacoma and the Hilux were updated in 2005. The Tacoma was based off the new Land Cruiser Prado chassis, while the Hilux rides on a refreshed version of the ladder frame found on previous versions. It spawned a mid-size crossover SUV version called Toyota Hilux SW4.

The new Tacoma won the Canadian Car of the Year Best New Pick-up award and was Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year for 2005.

Engines (markets):

* 2005 2.0 L gasoline VVT-i DOHC I4 (South Africa)
* 2005 2.5 L diesel D-4D DOHC I4, 102 hp - 120 hp (Asia, Europe, South Africa, South America)
* 2005 2.7 L gasoline VVT-i DOHC I4, 160 hp (Australia, The Philippines, South Africa, USA)
* 2005 3.0 L diesel D-4D DOHC I4, 163 hp (Asia, South Africa, South America)
* 2005 4.0 L gasoline VVT-i DOHC V6, 238 hp - 245 hp (Australia, South Africa, USA)

I think that one belongs to ARB, it's been getting around for a while now. I assume it's a development vehical for ARB's overseas markets. Pretty sure they don't have any development facilities in the states.
