I know it's a long way off but maybe if I get in early...
I'd like a: XR6 Turbo AWD with 280 - 290kw. I want a silky smooth manual that doesn't clunk with a 3rd gear that's easy to find. 5 speed is fine, only truck drivers need 6. I'd like good cup holders that actually hold cups, not an oversized coin tray Oh, and I'd like it to be far away from my silky smooth manual so I don't knock the cup over finding 3rd (or any other gear). Recaro seats Climate control standard 18" Wheels standard A rear windscreen wiper (for days like today in Sydney) Nice stylish bonnet vents to release the engine heat or maybe a demister for the windscreen? A non painted intercooler (just to stop it looking terrible when rocks hit it) Can the intercooler be placed in the middle so it looks like it should be there and not just thrown in? A lower grill standard to stop some of the stone chips and lastly decent brake calipers to handle the power with good rotors. Thanks in advance (wishing really hard) Jamie

You've got more chance of getting that from Santa than from Ford. Oh and I'll keep my 6 speed box thank you very much, you can feel free to have as few a gears as you want.

6 speed all the way, agree on the cup holder. It hold's massive maccas cup perfectly, but not much else. It needs to be A: Deeper so the cup sits firmer in it and doesn't spill under braking. B: Deeper so you dont bash it over every time you feel the need to change gears.
As for the AWD, make a smaller version of the falcon (Read 13ookg) and drop the T6 in it. Direct compeditor for the WRX and GTI-R's. |

the cup holder in my merc is located behind the stickshift near the arm rest, it split coffee all over the consol the other day and shorted out a module which sends a message to the ignition to say what gear the cars in so it can be started in P only, well this little thing broke and cost me 1800 $ for a new one so there is no drinking in the car nemore .

That's why I'm asking for AWD, I do love my Falcons but then again, I loved my Subaru when I had one as well. They just have to improve the dash on the latest model as it just looks cheap compared to the Falcon.

A recent trip down the Great Ocean Road in a friends STI just showed up the Falcon and Commodore for the fat ill-handling pigs that they've become. Don't get me wrong I love my Fords, always have, but there's just some things a near 2 tonne motorcar won't do!! Ed |

Ah dreams. Well in that case Santa, I want:
Ferrari 512TR, XC Cobra (Bathurst Spec), XA GTHO (drool), Aston martin DB9 and a new XR6. And a Powerdyne Supercharger for my EA2. I can dream can't I?

Well if we're putting our orders in early this year, all I want is my EB running again, preferably done by Jim Mock and have it blue printed. Oh while I'm at it I might as well ask for it to be taken up to Dev 5.
I'll be a really good girl for the rest of the year... I promise. :newangel:

What I'd like to see, apart from these improvements as mentioned is cut the soft option warranty crap. The cars are designed and marketed as a performance package. Show us what they are capable of, and have a service department there for what is there for, to liase with the customer than just provide lip service. Have a test track at a major dealer, doesn't have to be a large one - get the cars out there, demonstrate to us what the cars are capable of. If Ford/FPV are serious they may even have the competitors' cars out there as well to compare with. It is not that much outlay compared with the number of cars that are likely to be sold, and is an impression to us - the buying public, that yes Ford and FPV are serious about selling cars. : Oh and ah, interestingly enough Docklands Subaru not only had their entier prestige line up parked out at the test track, but also a BA XR6T there as well. Funny that.

I too would like improvements to the manual gearbox because I'm quickly finding out that driving a BA Slush-o-matic is for the birds. Its not only the T that suffers from hot air flowing over the external screen so got to agree with the bonnet scoops. And yes to the decent seats, getting comfortable in those XR seats is a bit of a pipe dream me thinks. Last edited by blurter; 24-03-2005 at 01:08 PM. |

Dear FPV...
Put the 450hp s/c 5.4 from the SVT Shelby Cobra GT500 in a GT, and give it the 05 Mustang's 5-speed auto too. Put decent rear tyres on (295s or so) and yes, the perfect car. |

The reason I'm wishing for Recaros is because you sit 'in' them, not 'on' them. I find (and so do my passengers LOL) that you slide around a lot going around corners. I do miss my Recaros and seriously considered fitted them to the XR6T. The thing that stopped me was that they would look funny with the leather rear seat.

I'd like a:
Ford GT40 imported and delivered to my door in white with blue racing stripes, and the cool 6 spoke (i think) wheels, not the other crappy looking ones. A mega-big supercharger to suit wouldn't go a stray either.

http://www.thecarconnection.com/inde...8&article=5646 Supposed to be out in Japan mid year and over here late this year. It's VERY high on my list for the lease changeover. Failing that, I'd take a Liberty GT manual over an STi WRX. The WRX is just way too poverty pack in the interior for my liking, but the base WRX is certainly exceptionally good value!

As far as I'm concerned 18" wheels should always be an option, not standard. It will be a long time before I can afford a brand new car, but I sure as hell don't want to be paying for 18" tyres when I do get one. If you have the cash to fork out for 18" tyres then you can afford to tick one little option box or better yet buy some aftermarket wheels. And if you really want recaro seats and AWD go buy yourself a WRX or a mitsi.

As nice as the Falcons are, there are some places that a big, heavy car just isn't suited to, just the same as there are some places a small, light, relatively underpowered car isn't suited to. This is why I keep saying "Ford, bring back a fun, small RWD and/or AWD car, what were you thinking when you replaced the Escort with the Laser?!?" So, while we're all putting in our Christmas wishes, mine is simple, bring back a small Ford sportscar (please note I said SPORTSCAR, not MUSCLECAR, IMO a sportscar might not be as quick as a muscle car in s straight line, but makes up for it in the corners), something along the lines of the old Mk II Escorts, but with modern engines, transmissions and suspensions, don't continue to force people who want a small RWD car to look places other then Ford showrooms! FFS, even BMW have got the right idea (series 1), so wake up and spot the sales going elsewhere Ford!!!
