went through all the graphics card tests and sound card tests etc...
the game starts up, goes through the intro movie, then just exits itself... and goes back to windows...
i know its probabl not anything to do with the certain game, just a normal problem...

Direct X graphics settings perhaps?
Any other programs running in the background?

That was the same for me. It would quit when I was using my onboard graphics, so I forked out $200 for a graphics card (heaps of other games didn't work either - or were very laggy). I don't know what you'd do with a laptop though, as you can't really upgrade them.

have a look on the GTA SA website or google for it but they usually release patches that fix common problems that people have..

how much HDD space you have left? sometimes theres not enough and the computer has a fit and just closes off stuff because theres no space for swap files

GTA:SA will not run on a laptop, as it requires a dedicated 3D Graphics card to run. Most laptops do not include such a card (they use "pretend-3d" cards that actually use system memory)

So unless you can upgrade your laptop to one with a proper 3d card like an NVIDIA or ATI you aren't going to have much luck
