Angry Watch Out For Stupid Idiots Walking On The Road

Anyways today i was driving to the shop with a friend doin 50kph. This lady has a dog and a dual pram that carries 2 kids. They were twins or something very young like 1 or not even. She walks across the road to the island were you can stand and wait for cars to pass i was like hhhmmmm better keep an eye on her. She looks right then left DIRECTLY AT ME! I was only about 30 meters away. She then just walked right out infront of me by then i was about 10meters or less away. Just walks right infront of me. I jammed on the brakes and honked my horn big time. I was that furious with her i got out my car and told her she is a STUPID F*(K(*$ B(($H and all this other mumble jumble i went nuts.

If i killed those 2 little babies i could not of lived with myself and i would of been going to jail.

Just shows when people are around stick to the speed limit. Especially kids or even adults some of them are as thick as a kangaroo with down syndrome. If i was doing 80kph the pram and her kids would of been about 100meters down the road and dead as. Afterwards i was shaking i was that angry and just out of it.

WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!

Yeah, I get that all the time here. People tend to do it in cars as well...

That'd be scary mate. Glad to hear nothing went wrong (for you). Makes you glad that you have brakes and eyes that work. As much as people debate this (unfortunately, the law doesn't quite agree with us), the road is the home of cars. Pedestrians should realise that when they cross the road they are out of their element. Like swimming in a tank of sharks, you gotta be careful.

even at the speed limit (or lower) we know you cant just stop in 1 m. sometimes I feel that pedestrians should be required to pass some sort of test, as you said you would be at fault, you would be trying to live with this. I wonder if she is somewhere telling all about the "hoon" who almost ran her over? it reminds me of those "tunnel vision" commercials from a few years ago.

this is the biggest problem on a friday or saturday night. its even worse because its hard to see people in the dark/street lamp lights. then theres people all over the bloody road, drunk as ******* and when you drive past at 20km/h people just stare at you from only a few metres from your car like your a circus freak!!!
i'm starting to wonder why so many pedestrians get hit in the first place. it's because all the attention is on driver's so pedestrians just think that they wont get hit and can do what they like. instead of ad's on TV showing by going 5km/h slower blah blah blah.....why dont they start campaigning ad's warning pedestrians to WATCH OUT FOR CARS ON THE ROAD AS THATS WHERE THEY NORMALLY DRIVE!!! theres only 1 ad i can think of that trys this approch, a Maccas ad with Ronald McDonald and friends! but they only show the zebra crossings, which by the way are hard enough to see people!

the other day i was driving along a road near home and there were about 30 or 40 young jocks walking along the road in a big pack, all over the road i might add. so when i came up to them do you think they moved? of course not, they just slowly turned there heads when i was a few metres from them and slowly made enough room for me to crawl through. it wasnt as if they couldnt hear me coming, with a 2.5" exhaust system my car isn't exactly quiet! there was another car coming the other way also which they could clearly see but barely bothered to move for that too.

As I have told my wife, if I get hit by a car it was probably my fault for not looking,

I don't know how many times I have nearly ran some one over because THEY didn't look,
The other week I was doing 50 in a 50 zone (local shops) and a mother with a 7 year old boy in tow walks out from between the parked cars and nearly becomes a GT hood ornament, 30meters down the road is the pedestrian crossing WITH lights.
Now if I had hit and killed these 2 people (mother and son) I would be the one going to jail for their stupidity!

What really gets my goat is when you see a 'baby on board' sticker on the rear screen and they drive like absolute maniacs, I mean if you have kids on board use at least some of your brain for them if not for yourself.

Just yesterday there was a guy fishing on a bridge in Gladstone (with 'No Fishing' signs on it). He stepped back onto the road and was cleaned up by a B-Double travelling at 80km/h (in an 80km/h zone). :togo:

What shits me the most is that in the paper, the local police said 'hopefully this will remind motorists to slow down.....blah, blah, blah. What person in their right mind would believe that this had anything to do with speed?

Also, this oxygen thief is a +1 for the road toll - what a crock of ****. This had nothing to do with the road toll. I think it is a +1 for the Darwin Theory if anything.

this is exactly what i am talking about. i dont know what can be done about it, i'm 1000000% sure the police wont listen to this, they'll just chuck it all back at ya...slow down blah blah blah!!! i dont see why i have to go so far under the speed limit, ie. 20km/h in a 60km/h zone just because some idiot decides to run out in front of me.

The roads are for cars, the footpath is for people. You dont see cars driving along the footpath do ya.
Actually i'll back that up with "NOT VERY OFTEN!!"

Zebra Crossings **** me off hardcore when they difficult to see and not adequatly signposted. And also slowing down for a zebra crossing in a residential area, and the bunch of kids or elderly just stand and wait for you to drive past. You spend half an hour playing charades, trying to get tell them to cross, especially if their standing on the bloody crossing. Your not being polite, your being bloody annoying.

I have said for a long time, self-responsibility doesn't exist anymore.

The courts reward people who do the wrong thing.

Burglars can enter your home with a nice big machete, and if you attack them on YOUR property when they threaten YOUR children and family, they can sue you for damages! WELL! If they were not in a place where they shouldn't be, there wouldn't be a ******* problem now, wouldn't there?

Same with pedestrians. Driving along Maroondah Highway in Nunawading 80km/h, a very stupid young couple just dawdled across the road and I had to slow down to 50 and narrowly missed them. They then stuck the finger up at me, despite the fact that they were in the wrong.

IMO, some people deserve to die due to their selfish attitude.

We have crossings for a reason.

The police throw blame on drivers but I guarantee that in many cases, the pedestrian is at fault.

My old man would be dead now if he wasn't responsible.

Crossing Springvale Road with a green walking man signal, he had a blind spot behind a truck where there was an empty lane. He could have just walked, but he stopped, looked around the truck and a van sped through the red light.

If he hadn't stopped to look, he would have been killed.

There's a lesson.

Once again, people should accept responsibility for being **** tards.

If you hit a pedestrian, it seems that the driver is always at fault. The media assumes this is the situation whenever they write up their stories on pedestrians being hit by cars. How many times have you read: "The driver has been questioned by police. Charges have not yet been laid."

This is possibly why pedestrians now think they have right of way, regardless how stupid their actions are.

I wasn't wishing it upon anybody, nor would I ever.

I was saying that in some cases where people do not accept responsibility and are not careful, they perhaps deserve what they get, rather than the driver have the finger pointed at them.

Pedestrians must also play a role in avoiding car-related pedestrian fatalities, as should drivers.

Unfortunately, this is not the case at the moment.

I had a guy the other day on a corner looking down reading a paper I was about 20m away with my indicator on.. I slowed right down cos I didn't know if he was going to cross and he just stood there, so I started to turn, got about 2-3 metres from him and he started to walk without looking up!! I got so close to hitting him.. I hit the brakes and horn.. and all he did (as he was so close) was come to my drivers window and say 'Watch out you f-ing idiot.. F-ing P platers think they own the road, I should take down your number plate!"

What the hell!? It wasn't even a ped/island corner, and it's a pretty small/tight corner too, so he must have heard/saw/SENSED a car there.. Sheesh.
