just a quick question:
does the AU LTD have the same engine as the AU S1 XR8? they both have the same Kw and Nm. would it be a safe assumption that they are the same engine? |

They had the 4-1 shorty headers w/integral cats, and a dual 2 1/4" exhaust.

The base model (read non-XR) V8 in all AU series was rated at 185kW, whether there were any differences in exhausts etc I dont know.

actually the LTD engine is rated at 185kw which is why i am asking if it is the same as the XR8 engine. it also has the same Nm.
the Fairlane has the 175kw engine. according to the brochure scans the LTD has the High Output engine which i am assuming is the same as the XR8 S1 engine. drive.com even rates the LTD at 185Kw. http://www.drive.com.au/buy/market_v...&body=4D+SEDAN |

The LTD did run the very early 185kw high output engine that was shared with the very early AUI XR8 which got updated to 200kw and 220kw in the AUII. AUII/III LTD's still kept the 185kw engine. the LTD's nice but you wouldn't get one over a bteer nick fairlane as with a few mods it would be the same
