mmmm Speed Holes.

On a serious note though, those arent holes from the average 22 rifle. Something very big and nasty chewed up that 4wd before spitting the carcass out.

According to the translation of the website and what it links to, the car is in Las Vegas. Maybe Grissom from CSI went postal.

7.62 would have made a slightly smaller hole, depending on how close it was... yes, I used to be a registered gun owner.

I shall ask the hubby, he knows this stuff

I'd be saying .50 BMG with some 5.56 mm mixed in there. Those holes in the back would be WAY bigger with 20mm.

Plus it makes more sense to have a Browning H2 and M16s/m4s on US soil if it is indeed in Vegas.

As a ballistics guy, I'd guess at 9mm or 45ACP pistol for the small holes, and a 12GA shotgun solids for the big holes. 50Cal into thin sheet metal = 13mm hole. doesn't do those big holes. Shotty solid slugs deform and make big holes like that... And I'd guess at no police/military involvement in the "holing" so to speak.

Oh, and additional to that, 50Cal and 20mm would have come out the other side... no exit type holes that I can spot...

Yeah the back window id say is definately shotgun blast, normal scatter. due to the level of penetration in some of the interior of the link I posted, I'd be inclined to say a high powered rifle of some sort were used for some of the holes.

I'd agree with the use of solid slugs from a 12 guage being used for larger holes. The rounds tend to tumble(No rifling in a shotgun) and deform and make all sorts of a mess of anything thats unlucky enough to be infront of it.

Well if it was a mafia style hit the shotgun would explain it, those crazy bastards would be shooting close and keep pumping rounds in for a while.
