Default Good Bye slum lord!!

Woo Hoo! :

The Maddestman and I decided that we had better get cracking on looking for another house to rent today. The first we had looked at that pretty much had everything we wanted, applied for it at 3pm and at 4pm it was ours!! :1syellow1

By Monday afternoon we can start moving stuff in, so we have 3 weeks to get all our stuff over there. There's a carport for the precious Eski's and the EB can stay behind them. My doggie can come too, so I have my added security.

Now seeing as my landlord isn't allowed to contact me (except via registered mail) I'm going to put in a claim for him to do some urgent and non urgent repairs.

Then when he decides that he's not going to give me my bond back, and I know that's what he'll do I'll take him back to VCAT. No condition report but I have photos of the house before I moved in.

Now what was it he said again?
Oh that's right, "You want trouble, I give you plenty of trouble, I kick you onto street."

I don't think so buddy! :

Now onto getting all this car stuff sorted out. :

Thanks guys, the pics are just of an empty house and all the things that were wrong with it when I moved in. Things that are still wrong with it, so until my lease expires in May he's under obligation to fix them. I'll be moving out and he'll be spending money fixing things. :hihi:

Haha! Actually he's not Asian he's Lebanese.

I got a letter by registered mail today, he claims that I'm 9 weeks behind in the rent, so he's applied to VCAT for 9 weeks rent and compensation!!!!

He obviously hasn't been checking his bank account because I have statements with the money transfers on them and he wants compensation for WHAT??

He still hasn't lodged the bond with the RTBA which he was ordered to do at the last tribunal hearing. If anyone deserves compensation I do for having to put up with the f*** wit for the last 10 months! :

Oh well back to court just for him to be : once again. I wonder if I can actually make him break down and weep openly this time? e

Yeah we'll be about 10 mins away from the little ferrals when we move, so they wont know where we live. If they do find us, we're on a main road, they have to get over a high fence then not let the dog see or hear them (or me!). :

Kyle's away at the moment so I haven't had a chance to tell him that we got a new house... hrmmm... shhhh people!!

Served him with a breach of duty notice because he kept walking into the house whenever he felt like it, including when I was in my underwear. He kept doing it I had the court enforce the order along with a few other orders.

Great to hear something going in a positive direction for you guys. One word for your old landlord Karma.

From past experience the residential tenancy tribunal tales a very dim view of landlords doing "The wrong thing by tenants" they are also extremely harsh on the party that submits a claim that is clearly unfounded, as from what you say his back rent claim is.

My best advice is to succeed in spite of assholes, that is the best revenge.

It will NOT be a sad day when the last of all our things is moved out of this dump and into the new house.

I hope the old landlord has trouble selling this house, no doubt he will, particularly if he expects to get over $300,000 for it the way it is! :
