Default Website popularity pointers?

Guys I need some tips on getting my website more hits.Its been going well then lately its rankings have dropped.What can I do to lift it back up in the search engines?

Sorry if this is repeating stuff you already know - but the stuff below was news to me when I was first told. The quote is some general info my website designer emailed to me regarding search optimisation. It's got a couple of good points.

He said static pages like FAQ's and product info go a long way to increasing your ranking on google/yahoo/etc. I've also found the google 'sponsored search' thing to be pretty good. We're getting a fair bit of business out of that.

Getting your link onto someone else's page (FF.com.au) is also apparently good and helps with your overall ranking too.

I agree.
Having an active link in your sig is the best way for people to directly access your site, it works wonders for me & the admins have been very kind for allowing me to do this, it has been great for my business & for that I can't thank them (& the FF community) enough. _2: The cheque's in the mail guys!!!
