Default For those int, AU1-3 steering controls with aftermarket stereos.

Hey all i was just reading an autobarn catalog and found that they are selling the Steering Wheel Control Adapter for use with aftermarket cd players including Clarion, Panasonic, Kenwood and Pioneer units. They are saying its good to work from AU1-3, The price is $179.00.
Most people probably know about it but just thought i would put it up anyways.

Shaun.

WOW $179...

You could get a AU Fairmont CD Player for only $250.

Still good for those who want more.

Called the CAT09 for the AUII onwards ... theres a different one for AUI.

cArSiK had a thread about 6 months ago for this items. I want to get the CAT09 for mine .... but need the cash for other things at the moment ... soI am jsut sticking with using my remote ... or reaching for the dash.

JB HiFi sell them as well.

Have the CD controller Tape deck in the Futura S1. Put the Alpine 6 stacker in, using the wheel mounted controls is awesome, especially on long trips.

I guess though, around town would be more benefitial, as you're much busier concentrating on the job to be adjusting the stereo all the time.

Are these units compatible with Sony gear? I have a CDX-S2200 that I want to get into the SR at some stage, but haven't done so as I want the use of the steering wheel controls.

Hi George,

Pinched this from another site...

"Just to let you know that the Recommended Retail Price for the CAT08 & CAT09 is $229 plus installation.

It's suitable for
ALPINE, CLARION, ECLIPSE, JVC, KENWOOD, PANASONIC, PIONEER & SONY head units with Infrared capabilities; and

HOLDENS VR - VS, VT - VX, VY - VZ, BARINA XC, ASTRA TS, VECTRA ZC, FORD AU1, AU2-3 with standard steering wheel buttons.

The direct 3.5mm plug is only applicable for ALPINE units with Steering Remote Control Ready feature. "

Hope it helps (+ the attachment)

Cheers,
Rob

Thanks for that Rob,

My unit doesn't have a remote but I think you can get one for it.

I may be in business (albeit down the track a little LOL!).

I appreciate you chasing that up for me.

Cheers,

GK
