i was wondering if anyone knows of a company or person who fits those posts in people workshops and garages. Im not sure what there called but they are removable. they stop people from wheeling out cars and ramming rollar doors

hope that makes sence

The person ovbously would need to be located in Melbourne

Do you mean bollards to protect doors/pillars, or the big horizontal cross bars that sit at about waist height?

Try Wholesale Steel Security Products. 9584 4159 or 0415 569 141. I think the guys name is Michael Stewart.

They put in the floor mounted lockable ram bollards in front of the warehouse doors for the company I work for.

A mate of mine, who's an engineer/fitter/turner made some really good ones to protect his pride and joy. He bored holes through the concrete floor of his garage and down through the dirt, probably about 800-1200mm deep. He fitted a metal sleeve running the full depth of the whole. It's been a while since I had a look at it but he somehow made it so the poles that stick up above the ground (which are as solid as a brick $hithouse) are threaded. He made a special fitting which he sticks in the chuck of an electric drill, it's about 800mm lolng, and he inserts it inside the poles and holds down the trigger as if he was drilling something. This makes the poles lower into the hole/metal sleeve. It's ingenious as it'd take some figuring out if you didn't know how it worked. He's made it so you cant simply unwind the poles and take them right out, you have to use the special fitting. It's real difficult to explain without seeing it, but it's a brilliant idea. Next time I build a shed I'll be comissioning him to make me some I think!
