Does anyone know why Sivyer Holden Brisbane is closing down?
They cann't be losing money, because dunnydores are selling very well. Seems odd a profitable dealer is closing down? |

Toyota is just down the road, so it won't be them or Nissan as they are also just up the road. Cann't see why HOLDEN wouldn't renew the franchise, must be more to it than said. |

Just read that article. The ad said "Holden means a great deal to Australia" . Too bad it is not reciprocated.

[QUOTE=csv8]Thanks for that. Be could if a FORD dealership opened. Need one in that area.

Well if the person that I just spoke to is right the following may be considered.
Syviers were told to spend 5 million redeveloping the site to guarantee the renewal of their Franchise. Rick (considering retirement) basicly said get stuffed, the car industry is not the place to invest copious amounts of money at the moment. Major capital influx for little return, I don't think so. They own the land, it does not take too much imagination to consider the value of that land for redevelopment of you bulldozed it. I can see Residential and commercial development, If there is a car yard left you can bet it is on leased. Most of the support staff have already got new jobs check Zupps and other local establishments. I would NOT expect Denamc or any other major franchise to take a punt with their dwindling margins. The only winner out of this will be Eagers who may regain a little of the sales they have lost to Syviers in the past 12 months, but with the pressence of Zupps probably not.
