And today is the 6th, your point??

I, as I'm sure most here, wish people a Merry Christmas well before the 25th.

pretty much word for word of what the 1st line reads

guys/site (site=all/collective)

and MO, i don't know if you realised but Aus is a small part of the earth that caters for many different cultures, coz of people with your attitude people are more sheltered and quiet about cultural differences, this is the 3rd year in a row i've posted up the Orthodox Date for christmas celebrations.

I've recently visited a Muslim Mosque, i even participated in the full praying actions, and wished lots of mates all the best for Christmas celebrated on the 25th Dec

for all you that a whinging coz im 2hours early :P relax had our traditional dinner with home made pastry surrounding freshly prepared leak and bean stew mmm

Going by the old calendar its the 25th of December too, however, the world uses the Roman Catholic calendar... the 7th of January of the current calendar falls on the 25th of Dec on the old Calendar, hence Orthodox xmas = Jan 7 and New Year = Jan 14.

I know some parts of the Greek Orthodox Church have swapped calendars, but I can't comment much.

It's only becoming an issue because you are making it one, it's like any of the threads on here, if you don't like it don't read it.

I dont see an issue with this thread, in fact I extend the same greetings as I did to those prior to the 25th December.

Some people really have me bemused at their concepts of what makes an Australian Community.

If your not sending your regards for this festive day, dont post.

im greek orthodox. greek dad and aussie mum. i love both worlds. we celebrate chistmas on the 25 but i know our easter is out of whack with the tradiional easter here. it doesnt bother me because its 2 weekends i get to relax. merry chistmas to everyone who is celebrating now and also my ragards are sent to everyone of different religions. australian isnt being christian, catholic, prodesten with anglo background. its about being a citizen and contributing equally into society. if everyone respected everyone for their religions or appearence then we would never have conflict of this manner. im not going to be upset if someone said happy chanika to me. ill just say "you too buddy". enjoy your christmas fellas
