Did a bit of a search but couldn't find any information.
My tacho needle is a bit jerky at times I have noticed, particularly at WOT. Just wondering if it's a common problem and if it can be fixed, cheers. |

I use to find it was when the needle touched the face of the cluster it would get jerky. Have you removed your needles at all before?

Mine is doing this too today and I know my cluster has not been taken apart so it cant be the needles touching. Is it related to battery voltage?

Have you had a flat battery recently or frequently? And is your alternator/battery light on?

I have just bought it, so it may have had a flat battery that I am not aware of. However my battery light is not on.
Cheers for the ideas. |

Have noticed this quite a bit of late, both on my ute and other AU's at work. Mine seems to do it in hot weather (high cabin temp). Have talked to an instruments specialist about it and he seemed to think it was a bad earth problem most of the time, although i have since tried cleaning up all the cluster earths and didn't seem to make a difference.

Well just as a note, mine is all fine now, I think like some people have told me it was voltage related. After a big drive of a couple 100kms non stop through the hills the needle slowly went smooth again. Now it is 100% fine even revving it in neutral.
Weird. |
