Default Golf

Hi all. Just wondering how many golfers there are or here.
After a few years of mucking around and borrowing/hireing clubs of my mates i decided to check out EBAY for a bargain.
Or should I say (IMPULSE BUY )
After looseing out on a few sets I finally got onto a full set of dynacast clubs with maxfli driver and bag. To say the least "Im wraped" Paid $200 and they have played less than 20 rounds.
Any-Hoo will have to get out and give them a go and as it has been a while im not expecting anythin nice.

This may even leed to an AFF golf day, some day.

Yep keen golfer here, but not actually any good! Play off somewhere between 20-25 depending on what my horoscope and naturopath prescribe. Lefthanded too! Budget set of clubs ($850 including driver) but they are not the weak link!

I play (Sydney) mostly at the very humble North Turramurra public course, but also get to Eastlakes, Shell Cove (Shell Harbour), Wakehurst.

A forum round would be great - any Sydney-ites keen on showing their (bad) form?

Been looking into that too, but I mostly want to try the driving ranges. Asides from that a friend of mine will lend me her set to give it a try, only thing is I'm left-handed. Might look into eBay for a cheap set to have a go at.

Started playing when I was 6. Got down to as low as a 12 handicap.
Started work, and lost interest, but I am starting to get back into it now.

My Grandfather was a foundation member of the Cronulla Golf Course, so Golfing is in my Blood. My Dad, Uncle, Brother and In-Law play, however some of us not as regularly as we would like.

My Handicap was once 19, however it sits at 31 at the moment, as I don't get a chance to play as much as I would like. For Clubs, I had a set of Ping Eyes, however I broke the 5 Iron when I hit a tree, and not the ball, so I splurged on a set of Nicklaus Irons, with a 3 and 4 Iron Rescue. Money well spent. I still retained my Taylor Made R5 and R7 Drivers.

I got a set Precept EV's earlier last year... i dropped from a hacker to an occasional hacker, and one particular round, i became a long distance hacker... (Hit the ball a long way!!)

I usually play @ Nudgee which is just near Brisbane airport, and it does the trick, its flat, so its not too hard to walk around, there is the added fun of actually 'trying' to hit a ball onto the motorway on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th holes...... i have a killer slice on occasion, and havnt quite managed it... YET.

Golf is a crazy sport...... It drives you crazy.... We all say we play golf for relaxation, but we all spend most of the round cursing... LOL

I been playing golf since i was 16 now 22 and i've come along way.
Startde of 27 and coouldn't play to it for buckleighs.
Now after a few leason and mainly self taught i'm down to 4 and playing quite seriuosly.
Just got some new sticks ( Titleist blades) for chrissie.
You blokes thinks you've spend alot on your cars. I reacon i've spend about $10,000 all up on my golf career, incl memberships and golf clubs.

If there's a few us down in Melbourne that play, maybe we could organise a golf day.

Hey Guys

I am a part time golfer, with too many commitments I don't go as often as I would like. I have a set of Maxi-Fli clubs that work just fine, pity the user isn't so good.

I have a bit of a slice that I am working on right now, and I can't use my drivers very well. Any tips would be great.

My brother just got a new set so is looking at offloading his old clubs, LH. We're both LH and the old mans RH. Is frustrating cause he spends a fortune on clubs and I can't use them, would be nice to show him there's nothing wrong with the clubs!!

Started playing when 14 in East Gippsland. Joined Navy, and now lucky to play fortnightly. Been down to 11 but 15 is closer to mark now, Putting kills me

Slow your swing down and don't try to hit to hard, also make sure that when you swing through the ball keep you elbows tucked in.

See how that goes, always a good idea to get a lesson every now and then.

Theres some good info here, tips and equipment plus course reviews
http://www.iseekgolf.com/forums/index.php?

I found that there are many varying opinions on swing which is already complicated enough with the various aspects of the swing itself, best thing is to read up then try all the different things hitting a few 100 balls at the driving range. Helps to have someone watch you swing too or see it for yourself so you can see where you're going wrong

I've just got back into golf this summer. The local businesses in Young have a comp that goes all summer. We do 6 holes after work every thursday.
Damn it's a hard game! I love it but I love the 19th hole more!

I've played since i was 15 i think, i used to go to the range about 3-4 times a week and play twice a week, even bought a golf cart and all (yes i am a lazy bastard)

Started working at a golf course when i was 17 and quit to start my own business

Now since ive opened my business (an indoor golf centre) i've kind of stopped playing golf (mainly because i am too busy) but i hope to get back into it sometime this year after my business kicks off properly, My golf cart just sits in my yard slowly dieing... kind of feel sorry for the poor thing

so i guess you could say i Used to play, and will play again lol

I started playing at 11, but pretty much stopped playing all the time around 96. Once I got a hole in one, my golf went down hill. So I just stopped playing. Clubs are still in the garage. Same set I got when I turned 21.
