Exclamation Mitsu Would Like A Car Like TOYOTA'S AURION

I was in my local Toyota dealer today. The Aurion, depending on model is a 4-8 week delivery time. Plus servicing is $120 for the first 60,000km's or 4 years, whatever comes first. Mitsu would love to have an order book like that.
The servicing costs are great, something FORD should bring back, last seen with AU2.
With AURION selling so well, how long can MITSU 380 keep going ???????

Personally I think the 380 has been given a bad wrap and then everyone else has just jumped on for the ride........

I checked out with the lease company today. Earliest delivery date for an Aurion is March. I thought they must be joking. I guess the export market has more priority.

well having driven an Aurion AT-X personally, i was supremely unimpressed by the car, other than the interior and perhaps the motor the 380 has it all the way, plus its about 5 grand cheaper and has manual option.

I for one would much rather a 380 VRX with leather and manual than a Auto povo pack Aurion for 36g's.

I've driven the 380 VRX and they are actually a pretty good car. I wouldn't by one but they deffinetly have a huge market out there.

I think the 380 platnum in Black looks the goods & is great value & warranty. I havent driven a 380 as yet so I will reserve my judgment. But my neighbor has one & has been very happy with it. I tend to agree that we all know Mitsubishi is not travelling any where near it would like. But I tend too think a few people like to sink the boot in while its down.:

yea and the supercharged aurion is coming out this year aswell. sales for that will probably go well too. least i know my job is secure

Both Aurion and 380 are coming out with superchargers with around 230-240KW, but I reckon they will be close to the 50K mark. I would prefer the XR6T as its cheaper and RWD.

I'd rather MMAL get their AWD system back - then work on a supercharged version.

ford and holden would get a shock in the sales department

if mitsu and toyota started selling the 380 and Aurion in rear wheel drive.

the 380 is a nice car but cant they see that aussies want RWD

IMHO the 380 is the most attractive large Australian car on the market, the Aurion the ugliest and the Falcon the plainest

People waiting for Aurion must be waiting for Prodigy or Presara, as the AT-X and all Sportivo models are quite readily available.

NRMA (NSW) gave the Aurion its best large car award, followed by the 380 then Commodore.

Some aspects of the Aurion were of concern including losing boot space due to hinges (my AU has struts..!!) and its towing ability.

The review seemed to contradict itself considering it is meant to be a large car and it didn't meet what I would consider large requirements.

It was a winner on safety and mileage, most of all.

I was looking at a 380 the other day and couldn't help thinking that it looked very dated. There is no visual "wow" factor in any of the 380 models, and it isn't helped by the fact that basic shape had been on sale in the U.S for some time prior to Australian launch.

I've also heard that the non-provision for curtain airbags (a major oversight) has hurt it in the fleet market.

Don't know if this has been said earlier but 380 are bringing out a Supercharge version as seen in the latest MOTOR. That thing looks tuff as. 240kw but not quite enough tourque yet.

I didn't think the Aurion was selling as well as Toyota wanted. They planned on selling 25,000 a year which is just over 2000 per month. They have only sold around 1500 a month since its release so technically thats 25% below what they wanted.

1 to 2 months would be a normal delivery time for most manufacturers wouldn't it. If you ordered a Falcon with a few options it would probably take that long to have it delivered unless the dealer already had one in stock.

The 380 is actually a decent car.
However, the 380 is not an Australian car. It's an American designed car.
The sports model of the 380 rated ahead of the Aurion's sports model in some areas, so it isn't like it's a piece of crap.

I feel that the 1980s Magnas tarnished the Mitsu's rep forever.

I rode in a 2002 Camry on Sunday and I will say that although the ride was smooth, the interior is as plain as my backside and the seats were like sitting on a discarded couch at the dump.

I've been in many Magnas and their seats have been very nice.

So I think the 380 does get a fair rap. But I also do not think it has a place in Australia anymore. Australia simply cannot supporter four large cars.

Wouldnt it be better for toyota if they met their Aurion demand rather than the Camry? I would have guessed that the Aurion has a bigger profit margin.

This cant supply more Aurion because of Carmy OS and local demands are BS. Simply put those that can afford a performance car would rather a V8, those that cant get a V8 would rather a Ford or a Holden.

The Aurion has a limited appeal (esp to fleets) and so far have been selling 25% below expectations.

All the Aurion models have all the things that you really need. I enquired regarding a normal Sportivo ZR6 plus mats and the dealer said delivery would be in March. As correctly pointed out, Toyota must be flat out making Camrys for export that they aren't able to make enough Aurions for the locals. Camry and Aurion share the same production line.

If that's the case then the Toyota is an American designed car too. I have seen heaps of the Aurions over there; wearing the badge Avalon.
Been seeing them since late 2005. Not really a new car then is it?

The thing that really gets into the psyche of potential front wheel drive owners is the cost and convenience of replacing CV joints. Yes I realise it's a moot point but when I've asked friends, they assume a CV joint job on a mitsubishi will set them back a couple of grand. Also, talk in the media of Mitsubishi closing down really does not inspire people to buy the brand for fear of no after sales service or warranty.

An XR6 Turbo is good Value compared to an SV6 and the aurion SX whathave you stupid model name.

Anyway

XR6Turbo is 45
SV6 with Auto is 43
ZR6 Aurion is 43

So why wouldnt you go the XR6 route. it would be a much better tourer.
