Default Distance to empty

When I got my Fiesta, distance to empty (DTE) was 450km. This has been creeping up with every tank until it's on 595km when I filled up on tuesday & I can usually get that too. Is the DTE something the car learns as you go? This would mean everyones would be different depending on usage.
Just curious as to what everyone else gets to a full tank. KJ

the car is Drive by wire (from what i understand and am told) . the car learns your Driving Technique and adjusts the settings. basically if you drive like a nana most of the time. the engine will use less fuel...

i normally get about 400ish out of a tank Extremely Spirited!

Im pretty sure the DTE takes your long term driving style into account. So if you are flooring it all the time your DTE will be low and take several tanks to climb if you granny it around.

Too bad I have a WP and don't have this feature

Like Piotr said, it's a feature available for WQ Fiestas not WPs.

When I got my WQ back in April 06 it used to read around the 530 mark from memory everytime I filled the tank up to capacity,............ now it reads about 480.

WHat happens is that the Computer uses its average L/100km figure to calculate the amount of kays you can drive based on whats left in the tank.

The more easy you are on the throttle, the lower the L/100km figure is on the computer.

I thought it be something like that. It's certainly a long term sort of assessment.

I only use BP 98 in the Fez and take my anger out on the RS. Just so I don't sound like an old granny when driving, I get 14.3L/100km out of the 2L, 4 cyl RS....

I get it now, the last 100km travelled. I was thinking the last 100km in the tank for some reason. Don't mind me, I'm a bit slow sometimes.

Still on my free tank of fuel, DTE now reads 75klms, have done about 585klms so far :-) 660klms sounds about right, mixture of grandpa/spirited! Reckon I could crack 700klms on the highway, my 04 Barina cracked that mark a few times...
