Looks like a 30 meter car. Some of the install work looks a little ruff. Otherwise doesnt look too bad. I wonder what is under all that red paint??

Audio install is a big rough lol, I'd assume it has some electrical charge alarm system that sends a 1000volt current through the car at all times when it's parked so every second person that walking past gets zapped when they try to rip the amp out just sitting on the passanger side floor from a car that's more thna 30 years old.

wtf?

id take it any day of the week!

2 minutes with an angle grinder would fix the so called " RICE " issue.

Perhaps the angle grinder could work wonders, but experience has always shown me that people who do things like that amp installation, are fully prepared to be bodgy elsewhere too.

I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

It might be a good canditate for a complete strip down, derust, and rebuild. But I bet his reserve is is way more than the car is worth.

I think you may be right, best he takes the 14k.
But on the other hand, people seem to pay outrageous prices for coupes these days.

My neighbour sold his 351 5speed XC Rally Pack Coupe for $22,000 about 5 years ago.

It didnt have all that junk in it though, But had a ground up rebuild over 6months.
Was just resprayed in that dark subaru blue, with white cobra style stripes(looked HAWT).
17inch B45s, new exhuast, New seals, Mild cam and a little head work, rebuilt 9inch and was retrimmed.

He sold it to a friend of his, ill see if i can get some pics sometime

I guess this shows you how you can devalue a car with crap house mods...

lost its charm?

you wouldnt buy it because of 2 cannons and a supposed home stereo install?

you obviously do not appreciate coupes then.

as i said before, with probably 1 hours work, it would be back to " normallity ".

Id just rip of the subs, amp etc and replae it with a rear seat.
Those cannons or whatever hes put on the tail pipes have got to go as well.
Nothing that cant be repaired with minimal fuss.
It doesnt look as though he butchered the door trims or anything.
If it was without the cannons and stereo, i doubt anyone would bag it, these are minor issues with the car.
At least he isnt asking an arm or a leg for a coupe.
In my opinion, old cars have are really overpriced at the moment.
I love coupes, i got an XC coupe in my garage, its in good condition, but i really cant justify asking someone to give me over $10,000 for it.

IMO, old cars will only continue to go up......

im strugling to find a cheap XR these days.. they used to be on ebay all the time for around the 1 - 2 grand mark... they seem to have skyrocketed in the last 12 months and sit at the 6-7k upwards mark for anything half decent

i should have bought one back then but dont have the room to store it untill ive gotmy own place

Are you saying you have a coupe in good condition that you wouldnt sell for 10 grand? As in, you think 1ok is too much?

PM me and i will buy it off you.

Send pics.

TUF514, you have a great looking hardtop to say the very least.
I doubt id ever sell mine, i bought it for $6000 in 1996 and its just been repainted last year.
I gota post up some pics sometime. Its Gloss white, metal sunroof 351, loader, 9 inch, CD MP3 player with 2 speakers in the parcel tray.
Its no show car, it does see regular use in the heart of sydney cbd and out here where i live (southern highlands)
If i did sell it, it would go to the highest bidder of course.
I just think personally the price some people ask is too high.
Im glad i bought it back when a older car was the 'cheaper alternative'
If i did sell it, of couse yourself and everyone here would know.
I would sell it cheaper than the going price of coupes in the market atm to get rid of it quicker. That and il be making a profit regardless as it has not given me much grief at all.
Though but i really dont think i will sell it becouse its reliable and a great car to drive.
I dont want another.

I actually do like coupes. But what I dont like about that particular one is the home stereo install, cannons, and the bolt-on taco. If it weren't for that, I would probably buy it.

I personally don't have the garage space to restore that so I wouldn't buy it in its current form.
