I am exaclty the same as you - I suffer from the "hot feet syndrome" lol. My father has it too - I remember as a kid he used to sit watching the cricket with his feet in a bucket of cold water, and I used to give him all sorts of crap for it! Now, how the tables haev turned and I am almost the same...

As per the suggestion above, I always put my feet on my wife - as they are very hot, her body is thus cooler, and hence cools them down. She gets annoyed at it sometimes, but meh - what is she going to do? :evil3:

Default I feel your pain!

Both me and my dad have the hot feet problem...on hot nights its the worst, nothing u can do, air con does nothing...best thing ive done is keep a water sprayer next to me and have a fan pointed to my feet, spray feet with water and the air blows from the fan cooling them down, just have to keep spraying...i love it in the car when i have aircon pointed on my feet when driving,so relaxing!
I dnt no what does it, im thinking maybe a genetic thing as me and my dad have it and his dad had it too!

Yep, thats what it is, I have the same problem except it travels up my legs as well, gets to the point where my legs ache as well, The doctor told me the only thing that will help is a bucket of ice water or those full leg circulation stockings.

Can't believe no one has suggested this yet...

You should ask "perthxr6t" if you can get a job where he is now. Shouldn't have a problem with hot feet there!

Could be a nerve being impinged upon somewhere. Do you get any pins and needles with it, or numbness? Any redness or swelling when you notice they get hot? There's a few things it could be, some of which can't be helped (other than what you're doing), some of which can.

OMG I was just talking about this today with my gf.

Ive got super hot feet too, now i am no longer a lone freak!

ANyway i thought it was restricted bloodflow, high metabolism and stnading on my feet all day that causes it.

My solution is to stick my feet against the windows, it gets so hot that they all fog up!

Oh and my girlfriend too although she cracks it

Could be a bit of dehydration too?

I sort of get it sometimes, dry feet etc, more so when the fan is at the end of the bed

Try drinking a bit more see what happens (if the missus screams becuase she's in a wet patch, you've drunk too much)

well i'm going with the dehydration . i dont have much thirst and have dehydrated a few times ( mildly) usually doing extreme work or exercise for long periods of time and not drinking enough . to keep me hydrated . although i might go with MELLY's suggestion too. i was wondering if she could help relieve my suffering . as she seems very caring .

I didn't write this, so I will put it in quotes. I'm not Dr. Rob
Quote:
There are two types of burning feet, those that feel like they are burning, but are not actually hot, and those that are actually increased in temperature. Anything that increases the flow of blood to the feet will warm them. This may result from exercise, alcohol consumption, some vascular disorders, inflammation, and infection. Anything that insulates the foot can reduced heat loss and increase the temperature of the feet, for example socks, stockings and shoes. The false perception of "hot" feet is due to changes in the nervous system. This may occur in the peripheral nerves, spinal cord, or brain. Nerve tissue may be damages by age, impaired circulation, injury, or mechanical irritation. Conditions such as diabetes mellitus, alcohol abuse, and nutritional deficiencies may damage nerves and result in the feeling of burning feet. In some cases nerve damage is reversible. Your podiatrist may help to determine the cause of your burning feet, or direct you to the proper specialist. In spite of medical evaluation, the cause of burning feet is sometimes never determined.

what if you slept with your feet elevated, would that help??

im the exact opposite, i am always cold, my hands and feet feel like icicles
in the middle of summer. I can never have the air con on for more the half an hr or i get too cold. Ben (perana xr8) drives with the air con on all the time full ball and i always turn my vents off! lol. i dont know why, maybe its bad circulation.

Is it a localised "on fire" burning? Or all over your feet?

I occasionally get bunions, and the painful feeling i get resembles a burning... Seriously, I know people think of them as dodgy, but everytime I 've had a problem with my feet, I've gone to a pediatrist, and she has never failed me... Go see one, worst case scenario, you'll walk out there $30 poorer....
