Yeah that would suck big time. All that hard work and shit. But then you know what cars work and what doesnt so you can perfect everything.

it is a geniune peice of no good genuine shit, I'll have to see if one of the other guys at tech is percentage wise, cause I aint starting out with a pos shit car again, that shits unbearable.
Damn I had just won the Mclaren F1 GTR too, and I had done the Formula 1 series and all, with all those and a quite a few other ones would be roughly about 40% right? I hadnt checked in ages. PS2 has gone away until next Wednesday though (when I start tech again) hope to god that I can get a save roughly around mine, dont care so much about the cars as long as the money is there I can just buy them again. apparently if you stuffaround trying to get around the auto save feature it really stuffs you save and possibly your whole card.
otherwise you might be able to hack it back out of the corrupt save with a PC editor?

I was thinking about this myself the other day. The 8Mb PS2 memory cards are flash memory, which I remember reading somewhere has a finite number of write cycles before it fails. Now, combine that fact with the fact that GT4 insists on saving (or writing, to use a more correct term) every time you change your car, and I can imagine a lot of PS2 memory cards effectively being killed by GT4.
Best idea, get a second memory card, and use it to back up your GT4 save game by putting it in the second memory card slot and turning on the PS2 without a game disc in it, then copying the GT4 data from the first memory card to the second one. Once it's finished, pull out the second memory card. That way, if anything happens, you can always use the backup save game, which although might not be exactly where you were up to if your main memory card cracks the shits, definately beats having to start from the start again. Sorry mate, I don't like you chances of getting your GT4 save game back :(

Yea, Now that I've slept on it and I have put it away in my cupboard I feel a bit better about it, I'll just get one of the guys from tech to copy his data on to mine and i'll do the races I hadn't done again. Lesson learnt I guess.
Thanks Guys. |
