Default Being Australian is about

MAAAAAATE!

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for aBelgian beer, then traveling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

Oh and...... Only in Australia... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

Only in Australia... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the Way To the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy People can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in Australia... do people order double cheeseburgers,
largeFries and a DIET coke.

Only in Australia... do banks leave both doors open and chain the Pens to the counters

Only in Australia.... do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.

Only in Australia... do we use answering machines to screen calls and Then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want To talk to in the first place.

Only in Australia... are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink.

NOT TO MENTION...3 Aussies die each year testing if a 9v
battery works On their tongue.

142 Aussies were injured in 1999 by not removing all pins
from new shirts.

58 Aussies are injured each year by using sharp knives
instead of screwdrivers.

31 Aussies have died since 1996 by watering their Christmas tree while The fairy lights were plugged in.

8 Aussies had serious burns in 2000 trying on a new jumper with a lit cigarette in their mouth.

A massive 543 Aussies were admitted to Emergency in the last two years After opening bottles of beer with their teeth.

And finally.... In 2000 eight Aussies cracked their skull whilst throwing up into the toilet

IF YOU'RE PROUD TO BE AUSTRALIAN PASS THIS ON!

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!!! :evil_laug

Yeah I thought so too. I would have imagined the Australian version would be meat pies instead of cheeseburgers.

I suspect that was copied from the USA, just like WOrking Class Man and> Football, meat pies, Kangaroos etc. As the last time I checked we didnt have pharmacies in supermarkerts.
Or maybe its only in Britian: http://forums.invisionpower.com/lofi...p/t177863.html

Being an Australian is about working a 12 hour shift on a public holiday, and being paid for it!!

Yeah pretty funny would have been better if the content was more to do with Australia, instead of substituting Australia for America. Seen the peom before but had America in it.

I celebrated Australia Day with 8 beers, shot of vodka and drowning my ice cream in Baileys.

So an average drinking day.

But we played Wii, and I did lots too.

And this is what Australia has come to; people not embracing it and trying to stop things that we call Australian.

Typical, isn't it? You live here, you're fortunate enough to have some of the best living conditions in the world, you drive an Australian car and your on an Australian forum. So if you don't like it: leave.

I am sick of people talking up this country and saying we have the best living conditions in the world because we don't. There are plenty of better places with lower taxes and less poverty and sensible laws and tougher entry requirements. Too much sun gives you skin cancer you know. My sister owns a house in the richest part of Switzerland, a tax haven called Zug. (pays 3% tax and 1.8% interest on 100 year loan, she also owns two flats in Wimbledon that are POSITIVELY geared) She can't afford to come back to Sydney because it's too expensive to buy a house here.
