Default Does my car have Roller Lifters????

Hi All,

I'm trying to get a solid answer to this question:

Does my car have Roller Lifters?

AU3 Fairmont Ghia 2002 V8

I have been told by many people that it does and equally as many that it does not.

Crow Cams tells me it does, Ross at The Blue Oval garage says it does, Freeway Ford says it does not????? Who is right????

Can anyone confirm for certain if the above model has roller lifters?

Regards

Norton

Yes it does and they are as dear as poison to replace. Make sure it is a lifter and not a worn rocker or rocker shaft before replacing.

Ta guy's,

I'm asking as I am getting a new cam installed, nothing currently wrong with the lifters.

I have been using Freeway Ford for some time now for both of my Fords (AU2 & AU3) and have had nothing but trouble with them.

I have recently decided to get all work (except warranty) done at non ford places, much cheaper and better quality.

This is just another example of their lack of knowledge regarding Fords!!

I will not be going back there.

Thanks again.

Regards

Maybe they were mistaking the question as roller rockers?

All Ford V8's up to the BA DOHC engines have roller rockers + pushrods.

The pushrod engine is so outdated. Ford should have done something about it alot earlier than they did.

Not true. All I6s have roller rockers, but not all V8s. Mine does now, but only because I fitted a set of ST2027s to it.

Surprised you even need to ask. Never believe anything a Ford dealer tells you.
