Accurent Affair put a story on about holdens and how people are having so many problems with them. They take there cars back to the dealers and the dealers tell them to sell there car as quick as possible for as much as possible. Some of the dealers are quite willing to help the people but GMH dont wont to know any thing about it. As one lady stated "she was a little pepple in a quarry of big rocks". So much for wheels car of the year.

Change the title of the thread to billion dollar flop, you will get more people viewing this thread. For those who havn't seen a current affair that just aired. There was a story on new holdens from 2005 to the now ve. Something like 8 different cutomers were complaining about engine noise, interior falling apart and brakes failing. One bloke was quoted saying " I thought I would give holden ago for the first time but it will be the last time, not happy" something like that anyway.

Lets hope that the long development time for the Orion sorts out all the bugs then!

That's what a Ford engineer told me at a BBQ about a month ago. They want to get it right. Hope that's the case indeed!

Man-o-man, Ford can string Holden up by the balls if they do this right. Imagine their new slogan...

"FORD. We actually know how to make cars." Haha, I wish.

OK, so thanks for filling us in mate. Quite shocking to hear the car of the year is more like fear of the year.

Yeah mate, if Ford were on ACA I'm sure it would have appeared here and on every popular holden forums.

Quick, everybody jump on the bandwagon, and bag the a$$ outta the new Holden, because Ford have never released a new model that's had teething problems and had dealers that don't care have they??

Ford have nothing to be proud of, have a look at some of the horror stories on the forums alone.

No you are right, I'm just too proud... I am fully aware that both the EA, and the AU exist.

But on a more serious side, the gravity of this situation is increased by the amount of rep and publicity Holden has got for this car, as soon as it turns sour, the news will spread like wildfire. 1 Billion dollars, 3 recalls and a hefty export program, and they still haven't ironed out the wrinkles yet. I'm not sure why they put all their faith in a Rev. A car being so good. I guess they thought that because it was the first one designed fully in Australia that it would just be as tough as nails, but they just seem to have buggered it right up. (So far anyway.)

holden may have shot themselves inthe foot by bragging about build cost so much, lets face it they still make them on a production line they are not $200000 dollar cars and they are still holdens, but that said i think people expect them too be a rolse royce

Ford may have had its issues with the BA, but atleast there wasn't any horror stories regarding quality issues run on A Current Affair or Today Tonight within weeks of it being awarded "Wheel Car of the Year".

I don't think the VE was mentioned, just VY and VZ utes and SS crapmobiles.

Interesting how ACA mentioned the window glass problems. A work mate has a VE SS that has had the drivers door glass repaired twice now. Could be a design fault. Not what you would expect from a billion dollar development scheme.

You obviously did not read this thread properly. It also included the VY and VZ models which are based on old platforms and enginnering.

That award no longer has any credibility to me. The JB Camira, TM Magna and now the VE are showing that. The Aurion, although not as sexy, is a more reliable car. The BFII is an excellent car but because it isn't new, it doesn't get a mention.

Holden has a big following and they'll buy Wheel's stuff if it has Holdens on it. There is money in it for Wheels.

It's dirty.

Yeah heaps of cars from vz ss ute to a ve omega. Holden really didn't look good at all. The interiors were falling apart and one bloke sick of going in every week to have somthing fixed. It would be cheaper for them to completly replace their cars. the amount of time and effort they are puttin into lemons is rediculous, not to mention the poor publicity they recieved. It was funny how a current afair were showing glimpses of the commercial for the billion dollar dud. Isn't wrong for channel nine to air negative footage about a car that pays so much to put its commercials on the air?

Exclamation Anyone See A Current Affair?

:evil3:

Anyone see (QAQ) A Current Affair Last Night (14/02) 10pm? on Sky News Channel.

LMAO! : They had a story on Holden's and their poor quality. A handful of new car Holden owners saying how much they've spent on repairs, one guy had to take his car in once a week for repairs. A guy with an 2005? SS ute had the engine replaced, 2 diffs put in and one of those diffs needed an overhaul, interior trim breaking and falling off, brakes squeaking and carrying on plus loads more.

One guy said he just wanted to try a Holden, first and last time he said. One lady has the new 2007 Holden and that's a shambles on wheels too. She was told by a Holden dealer to sell it and get as much money for it quick. The Holden HQ wanted nothing to do with anyone of the complainants.

I sure felt glad to have Ford keys hanging up........ :

"Buy a Holden, buy the best, drive a mile and walk the rest"

;)

If anyone taped it or you have a chance to watch a re-run later today, do so.
It's bad for Holden's rep. The youngest guy with a SS ute was still wearing a Holden racing t-shirt. Goes to show, that camp will support anything...even if it's falling apart and needs an engine (or two) replaced. :
