Hey guys,
I'm looking at getting a Milltek exhaust imported for my Clio (To replace to the complicated and HEAVY dual exhaust set up my car) and whilst researching I came accross this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHR1KxfjpDE Fiesta ST with Milltek exhaust. Prepare yourself... make sure you have a towel and tissues close by ;) Haha For more info hit www.millteksport.com Cheers, Steve

Was a huge stuff around getting my fitted, because no one knows how in australia. Different length of the headers meant rewire of O2 sensors, and a bit of fun making them fit. then making sure the system retained enough heat for the sensors to work properly because it was loosing too much heat through the length of the headers. If your the first to do it, have some cash handy

nah, but it does sound good, i might see what i can do. i wouldnt even bother with the group buys man, see if you can find a shop or somethign in the uk that will send them here.
I paid $723au which included postage for the headers, the miltek supplier in australia wanted $1100au, wtf? still was like 1000 for a group buy or something so.... do some research man you'll save heaps!

Local milltek suppliers (most are VW/Audi specialists) want $1,700 each : So, we are happy with our UK price. In regards to your exhaust, any photos?

nah, its all covered in insulation down to the cat to try and hold the heat on. the o2 sensors werent switching, made the car run like ****, cose it was loosing too much heat cose the miltek was twice as long as the stock manifold

nah it was there, definately because i looked at it. But i think i had a different problem, ford had a look at the computer etc and told me that the o2 (lambada) sensors werent getting hot enough to even switch on. so yeah, unless somone here is an expert on this sort of stuff and thinks it will fix my problem i wont bother, because its running ok now.

Are you running with both sensors connected or just the one?

That's the same problem I am having with the Ford Racing headers on my Focus. Insufficient heat. Haven't got a fix yet

My understanding is because you have changed the air flow through the cat and taken 2 away the computer will display the MIL light because the information its getting from the sensors have changes too much from stock.

so then after market management? I was considering this a long time ago but decided it wasnt worth the money, but now if that would fix the problem i spose i would spend the money rather than waste it on 5 more trips to ford while they pretend to know whats happening...

would the car not run properly then? seeing that it is infact running as stock when it is not? other thing i was just reading up on ukfiestanetwork that some people have used those and still have the mil light coming on.

There are a number of ways to overcome the CEL if it is a problem with the 2nd sensor (Mil eliminators, tunes etc)
But I am not yet convinced that the problem isn't with the 1st sensor. When the 1st sensor is relocated further away from the engine, as it is in these header applications, the exhaust gases wouldn't be as hot, and (perhaps) this is why the DTC is showing a problem of the 02 sensors not getting hot enough to "switch on". I know it is doing the ECU's head in, as the tune of my car is wandering all over the place Just a theory. Need an auto elec who knows what he is talking about. Maybe somebody at Bosch knows...they make virtually all the 02 sensors

The 1st O2 sensor is used for Air/fuel metering and the 2nd O2 sensor is used for emissions. So yes the MIL will only help if that is your actual problem. If you don't have any issues with air/fuel ratios a MIL will probably work for you.
Melb you car was running very rich so that would more indicate a problem with the 1st sensor. Of course we don't know for certain what is happening inside the ECU and can only speculate. |

ok, so if it is indeed the length of the manifold which is causing there to be not enough heat reaching the cat and makeing the sensors not work properly the problem is probably in both sensors... will have to ring ford and get them too look up my service history and tell me.
So... would there be any problems with say just putting the first sensor further up towards the engine away from the cat, so that it is getting enough heat and then using the mil eliminator on the second sensor which is after the cat?

Haemo, it's all speculation on my part.
But I can't find anyone in the US with the same problem. Maybe a change in O2 sensor? Wideband? Out of my depth here, but surely the right auto elec could work it out
