You have got to be careful with these sites though, i have a mate who maxed his credit card out paying online poker. Its good fun though, as long as your not a gambling addict, as it can get out of hand.

I play on party poker occassionally but gets rather annoying having to endure the 'roll the dice' all in with 6 9 offsuit on the first hand deal.

I prefer to play face to face and there's plenty of places that offer either free rolls (including one with no buy in and $4500 prize money at Canley Vale RSL next week apparently) or $10/$20 buy ins.

Played last night and was on a table with an old clucker who had never played before and ended up handing me my **** because she always sat on an ace and hit it on the river, or hit a back door straight when I had trips to knock me out. Pocket 4's, flopped 4 7 9, she had A 8, went all in, she called. J turned and 10 rivered.

It was only a $10 buy-in so I wasn't that ****ed and it's also why I wouldn't play high stakes. If you want to see some insane poker playing, torrent high stakes poker.

The people playing for free are not as good as the ones playing for real money, i noticed a fair difference in the quality of the players when going form free to real.

You normally have to play more than $20 tables for the games to be more than an all-in race I've found. Even at $20 half the hands were all-in before the flop and with pretty mediocre hands, too.

For a $20+ buy in I want to actually see who I'm playing.

Yahoo! Games Hold'Em Poker all the way.

No cash down, lots of idiots who can't play and nothing lost.
