Hey guys,
Just wondering. i know that in the log books and the research i have done it says the stock power of the ba is 182kw... is that at the wheels or the flywheel? if at flywheel then how much power at the wheels do i have? Thanks JO |

It's fly wheel.
Not sure about rwkw , I'm going to guess aroun 120-130.

It's at the flywheel. At a very rough estimate take off about 25% for at the wheels.

you lose about 30% of power through the drivetrain so to work it out its 182x30% then minus the answer off 182. That is not a spot on answer but its pretty close to what it is

Buy an XR6T, Nah just joking. The most people are getting out of these is around the 180rwkw mark. You'll need an edit/tune etc. Thats hould get you a nice gain after all the mods you've got planned.

most mods will only give a couple of Kw unless your car is tuned to use the power that those mods are designed to make. Custom editing and tuning using things like a CAPA Tuner and going to visit someone who knows how to get the most out of your engine with ECU tuning is your best Bang for your buck mod I can suggest.

This might be telling to how to suck eggs…..
You wouldn’t want to live and die by roller dyno readings. Do a bit of research on them. Such things as wheel alignment, clutch slippage, how well the car is strapped down to the rollers, gearbox and diff losses all add up and can significantly alter the readings at the treads. If you are using dyno readings to measure gains try and get them done at the same place, in the same gear, in the same mode, etc. Engine builders that really want to know what their engine is producing go to the trouble of using engine dynos because they have less variables.

You will notice good gains from a cam if you get it tuned afterwerds. Wade cams do quite a good job and offer a variety. With the head you can get larger valves, Get your inlet and outlets ported. Which just means makes them larger so it increase airflow. Capa flashtuners are also another option. It reprograms your ecu to get the most out of your car. Not to sure on prices for flashtuner or chips though.

well wade cams do regrinds and im not to sure on what it is but i know its less than $200 if you send then your standard cam and they regrind it to there specs. eg stage 3. Not sure on head work. Try find an xr6 head. I think they came out with larger valves in them

have you looked at the mod guide in the ford contempory section, also have you had a read in the bseries club section of these forums, there are plenty of N/a owners there that can answer all your questions, me being one
Mods i reconmend *pacemaker comp headers 4495's $500 *magna flow METAL CAT $300 *2.5'' exhaust $500 *k&n airfilter $110 *XR8 headlight snorkle $65 *turbo snorkle $35 Then once you have all these mods, get a capa flash tuner ($900) Take your car to AutoTech, and Spiro will work his magic on the dyno Make sure you use 98 octane unleaded for a few weeks before getting it tuned for best results. EG Caltex Vortex, BP ultimate, Mobile synergy. But STAY AWAY FROM SHELL FUEL its garbage. |
