Well, with the massive increase in the price of fuel lately the "I'm not paying $1/L" has given way to "I wish fuel was only $1/L"
That, and the price of premium hitting $1.25 on a regular basis, has added a massive cost to filling tank. No more $50 fillups form empty, the last one cost me $80!!! :togo: So, who has stuck to premium and who has had the reality of economics force them back? (Ive stuck to premuim 98Ron in the XR but its starting to REALLY hurt now, 95Ron is starting to look good)

my last fill up was $92 for optimax, ultimate just became way too expensive
although it is an 82 litre tank in the ute and the XR8 just loves to drink it, i get about 550-600 out of a tank, but the injectors need cleaning and i could do with some new spark plugs and leads as well, just to make it run more smooth Last edited by xceler8shun; 10-05-2005 at 03:42 PM. |

I usually use Shell Optimax or Mobil Synergy 8000 for the beast and spend about $400 a week on Diesel.
Cheers John

Regular Unleaded every time I fill up, even though Premium is about $1.07 here I think... it will get that as a treat.
When I get a balance line in, BBQ Fuel will be the priority.

Prices haven't justified me attacking my fuel card just yet, RON 98 all the way.
Casper, maybe if say you filled up instead of going $80.00 figured if they round down, go the extra 2c per fill up. So if you fill up once a week that's an extra $1.04 worth of free fuel in your tank every year. I suppose you already do that. :evilsasmo

We only use 98 ron, BP or Optimax. Fortunately I have a fleet card to use every now and then.
Can I use regular unleaded in the GT even though it has knock sensors,if so for how long?? Cheers, JAK.

Premuim (98 or 95Ron), with valve additive in the Escorts, regular doesn't have enough octane in it for engines designed to run on super.

LPG all the way baby................. :hihi:
If the ESP was on petrol it'd be @$90 per fill with the 80 litre tank. Bugger the minimum loss in power........I ain't payin little Johnny that much for the pleasure of sitting in peak hour traffic on the way to work. P.S. There's nothing like that clean smell of LPG whilst the Clevo is warming up on idle in the morning............. _2:

Always 98RON here, usually either Synergy or Optimax. Have to as the Unichip's tuned to that fuel rating
Luckily for me I have a Motorpass so I dont take much notice of fuel prices...but if i did have to pay for fuel, the $120 a week would be very straining on the mortgage! |

petrol prices have dropped here lately...even though they are still high at $1+..
but i filled up this afternoon on my way to work (1pm) for $1.01 at the pump at shell for ULP....then 5 hours later it was $1.09 for the same petrol at the same place.... minus the 4cents per litre, so i filled up for under $1/L! yay |
