Default AU indicator probs

Hi all. I was driving the wifes AU tonight and i parked illegally and put the hazards on and all the indicators just stayed on ie no flashing. Now when turning either left or right its the same story. Im thinking relay or flasher. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

Something similar happened in my old EA, just the hazard switch on top of the steering column had gotten stuck. Give it a fiddle, it may or may not help; if it does it's a cheap fix, if it doesn't, nothing lost.

Hot after the fix on my wipers. This same problem has happened to me. Sounds like I have electrical gremlins in the car. I look forward to this thread.

it will be the flasher relay, you'll find it in the relay box under the bonnet. change it and the indicators/hazards will flash again.

If I were you I'd replace the Hazzard switch now if it has done that once it will fail completly at the most inconvenient moment don't give it the satisfaction

Fixed my indicators. Taking not of how to fix your power windows, I simply tool out the relay cleaned the contacts and put it back in. 30 seconds work and the indicators are functional again.

Yeah will do mate as i have tried the hazards throughout the day whilst driving (no other cars around) and it pretty much plays up everytime, so if the missus is driving it and has to use hazards i dont it playing up for her. Thanks for the advice, i will replace it straight away. Cheers Mate.

Maybe issue with the alarm itself. Sorry not too sure. Hope you find a solution.

It means the Alarm is reporting an incident of some type... could be anything from a low back-up battery to an alarm trip from door, bonnet etc. The number of flashes will tell you what the condition is, turn the alarm off then on with the alarm key and it should reset and clear the fault.

you could also try blowing compressed air/wd40 or something into the top of the switch to clean a bit of the dust out that gets in there
