Hi all.
Im looking at buying a 04/01 TE50 series 2 with the 220kw engine. I know NOTHING about these cars. I love my fords but know nothing of the TE/TS 50 models(as i never used to like the au). But now i stumbled across this fine car and need some advice! Can anyone tell me what there like. And what problems they might have if any. Are they any good on fuel. (Mainly highway driving) Cheers any feed back would be greatly appreicated. Adam : |

mate if you get on get the t3 series three ones they are heaps better than the rest of them. they have the storked engines and are worth the money, they don't have many problem as it most wont have racked up many km yet. fuel wouldn't be as good as a stocko eb i would say. btw the lattter t3's had 300kw not the stated 260. a mate has one. TS50.
and yeah best to ask in the au section.

if it's the series 2 they had the svo alloy heads ;) the driveline in them is a really good base to build on and they are heaps cheaper than the T3's. I wouldn't think you would have many issues with it as it still reasonably newish (depending on K's). If you buy it pull the tailights out and give it a good clean in there as this is one of the hidden spot's inwhich they start to rust. apart from that good cars - bit ugly but still good

300kw T-Series? Well ****** me sideways I'm buying one now, especially for 25k!
More seriously, 250kw :P As for the T2's, they are alright, looking the goods too (I love the T2 TS Kit/Look) As for your query AdamLJarvis, I haven't heard of many problems, if any, with the T Series. They are definately worth their money and if you truly love fords then the T will do you good. Have a look through the AUFalcon forums and see what you can find. If you buy it I will be eternally jealous of you (and every other bloody T series owner) |

The TE50 is based on the Fairmont but with the 220kw 5litre with added go fast gear & niceties.
They're a great car & generally very reliable, on the highway I've seen high 8s low 9s litres per 100km. Have a look at the link below & let me know if you have any other questions. http://pandora-test.nla.gov.au/parch...meset2542.html |
