After a week (300 kms odd) of driving, that is. It won't bed in if you don't drive it.

I think it takes longer than a week I got my full exhaust done in feb and only in the last couple of months has the note got quite deep. It would take a bit more than a week for the carbon to build up on a new exhaust.

A free flowing exhaust is mandatory for making the most of other modifications and making more power. It comes with a price, usually a bit of a drone at some point depending on which system you are using. In my setup(Using Supercat resonator and muffler)I find I get more noise from the tyres and road noise then I do from my exhaust. Edit: As a side note, theres no point doing an exhaust on a 6 and believing it will suddenly sound like an 8. It will sound tinnier, it wont have a lope, which is often mistaken for exhaust note, but is actually engine noise, and it will drone at some point on the rev range depending on the exhaust system chosen. So it is written, so it shall be.

I have a redback cats back system on the wagon, with one centre muffler and rear resonator, and the sound is perfect. Doesn't drone at any speed and has just the right burble for a family car. It barks when you floor it, and at idle is just a little louder than stock.
