I had Mal Wood fit one of his short shifters to the T5 in the AU, Mal also shortened the stick and it sits perfectly, what a difference these shifters make.
This particular shifter is very tight but precise, together with Transmax Z in the box shifts are very quick but also silky smooth, highly recommend this mod to anyone with a manual box. Cheers guys. |

Fitted it was $270 and that included the shorter stick.
Not suggesting that this particular shifter is any better than what Rob Herrod supplies, or the Rip Shift one or any of the others available but the Mal Wood shifter is excellent. |

One of the first mods done to my ute was a short shifter, Mick Webb SVO one, heaps better than the factory T5 shift, but recently come across one of these, thanks paul(MADXF) http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang_shifter.shtml and no need for a bent gear stick as its all included.
Whats the mal wood short shift look like? BTW, if anyones interested in the Mick Webb short shift let me know lol. |

They look a bit like the shift leaver/stick from a T3, from memory they have a similar bend pattern that brings the gear-knob closer to the driver.
That set-up for the mustang looks good, can you adjust how far across and back the gear-knob sits

The orange bit swivels 360 degrees and the threaded shaft does not adjust so at it farthest point it does get too close to the console, but you can actually have it facing at 90 degrees and virtually hitting your leg. Quote:
