You should be able to get the O2 sensors with the proper plugs. Part number is 0 258 006 165. $76 each from ebay.

Stoked, you guys were right ,i went to another coventrys and got the bosch ones with plugs. He said ,I dont know why the other dude would have given u the universal when u can get these, too easy no soldering. Cars done 155ks and the sensors didnt look that bad but it only gets about 400 km to a tank city driving. I rang ford and asked them if there is a specific time to replace them and he said when they die, so how longs a piece of string probably about 155ks i reckon. Will let u know if there's any improvement. Twice the distance from one end to the middle.

Good to hear you found the right part - how much was it?

IMO Just clean them occasionally, they realy arent any different to o2 sensor used for checking oxygen levels in confined spaces.

These sensors are made of the same materials etc and can be cleaned !
( although nearlly any person selling them will tell you thay can't be cleaned ! )

They really don't need replacing unless they are cracked or been cleaned a few times imo.

I cleaned mine and got just as good results as a new 1 i recon , im getting good economy and power again ... Up 2 U anyway , whatever you prefer , my 2 cents worth anyway.

How do you go about cleaning them?

This was from another thread about a week ago , i posted here how to clean it as follows ......

Well i tried just cleaning mine off. When i removed it it was pretty black and had exhaust deposit/buildup on it lightlly .I just used my small toothbrush size brass wire brush to clean it up roughly , then used some metho on a cloth to clean of any stain etc ( it came up pretty clean / you could use isophrophyl/100% alcohol too np) , then just boiled it in RO/Distilled Ph0/nuteral water for 10 mins. Then just shook it off / wipe it dry and installed it again , i also used a drop of locktight for good measure .
( I have used test equipment / sensors etc etc in the past that are alot like a cars o2 sensor / except they didnt have exhaust crap all over them ..lol, and yes it is safe to boil it , and there is reason for doing it too )

I have had good results , works fine , but also brought on worse economy as i expected ! - ....

My idle is better , it accelerates better - all this was extremely noticable , and also my dte reading going 'down' faster than usual was noticable too !...lol.. I had a funny feeling this would happen , with power gain you expect more fuel usage sorta , but i had the idea that if the sensor was cleaner then it would say "hey i can breath again" / thus getting more oxygen/o2 ... so .. the ecu says "Oooo the car has heaps of 02 in the exhaust so i better add more fuel to richen it up and get the mix right" , thus using more fuel !.

So it seems they are cleanable no worries , i couldn't recomend for how many cleans though, and if the sensor had a crack of any sort or anything like that in it then it would definatelly have to be replaced anyway.

To sum it up, although for the bit more fuel usage im not too fussed , as the car is running heaps better/smoother and better acceleration again. Since i did get the sorta results i expected , i did a bit of hunting around to find out if i was on track and found this small article on oxygen sensors , very good explination of what they do and how they work ( for those not to sure ) , for those wanting to have a read check it out here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_sensor

cheers .

Car will be running smoother becasue it is using more fuel. Rich mixtures produce smoothness. Perhaps pull out you sensor and see how much it has clogged up again. If significantly, I might be considering a replacement anyway.

;) , it's cool , most people will get better economy for sure , my economy was super low but my car was running crap , now the economy is back to normal ( bit higher than it was / but good ) and is running better again. Roughly @ 12L/100k again now .

Yeah, they are the same part number I've got as well...plug straight in, but length of the wiring from the plug to the sensor seems a bit shorter than std.

I am not sure how they will go with the 4-1 longtube Pacey's.

Bought from that bloke on eBay for 160 shipped for the pair.

Yes my drivers side seems a bit shorter but the new sensors have those flexi rubber covers and they stiffen the wires a bit . I think it will mould to shape with a bit of heat. Mine were purchased on account price through coventrys.
